Books, clothes, furniture, garden tools, toys, you name it you sell it.
All welcome to sell, R50 per car-boot.
Donations to the VBRC ‘boot’ are welcome if you don’t want your own.
Donations to VBRC on proceeds are most welcome.

Friends – just to let you know that your membership cards can now be collected from Peninsula Road Security Hut. The staff have been instructed not to give the club keys to anyone who doesn’t have a membership card or who is not on the list of members. To all those keen players who have been using the courts ’ free of charge’ – you are welcome but please phone 082 7333500 and arrange to pay your minimal membership fee. September 1st is officially the beginning of the tennis season so lets get going, add your name to the tennis ladder in the club and have fun. Don’t forget to also take a walk in the park – the arum’s and flood water are looking stunning!

The recently launched Van Blommestein Recreation Centre is now attracting new members day by day! But the surrounding park needs continual attention and maintenance. This week we have opened up to the water at Victoria Junction at the end of Victoria Road. I have been working on the park up to the present with a man called Chance Bizweck. Chance is a young man with a strong interest in the environment and a gift for landscaping. I would like him to be employed for 2 days a week at least for a year. So I’m looking for a donation of R13000 to pay him R125 a day. I would manage his work in conjunction with and with the complete support of the managers of Rondevlei and Zeekoevlei. Our vision is to create and environmental master peace and a special place of re- creation for the whole community.

Tennis coach, Mark Botha is offering to coach at the Vlei courts on a Saturday morning. If anyone is interested, please contact him directly. His number is 072 640 8837. Mark spent some time playing with the kids on our Open Day and many of you met him there. He works for the Tim Armstrong tennis school and has coached my kids for years so I can personally recommend him, he is great and the kids love their lessons with him.
He coaches adults and children of all ages.
